*EDITS AND UPDATES

I have a few new items I want to share with you so I’ve updated this post. Most everything is the same; except I have added some wall decor over my computer (if you scroll down to last year’s reveal you can see I left the wall bare.) I finally caved and decided it was time to decorate that wall. The 16×20 photos that I linked previously are no longer in stock, so I’ve linked some similar wall art in case you’re on the hunt!

Wall Decor

When we moved in 2020, I knew I was going to need a space where I could comfortably work from home. The original plan was to build my set-up in one of the guest bedrooms. I did work there for a couple of weeks. One issue, though, was that the space was a little too closed-off for me.

Fortunately, the way that our main living area is arranged, we had plenty of space in the corner to put my desk for work. I sit facing the wall so that I have fewer distractions, but the openness of the room makes me feel much more comfortable. I have found this to be one of the big perks of working from home. You can truly customize your work environment to fit your exact needs!

(Thank you to my husband, Caleb for putting up with all my changes and helping me put things together!)

Laura’s Style

The walls in our house are a very basic grey tone which flows all throughout each room. Our main living area is very open to the dining and we didn’t want to worry about choosing what or where to re-paint. I have found that decorating for this color can be a bit of a challenge. I try to go with colors that pop against the grey and bring some flavor to the room. I am all for clean and simple, with minimal distractions. But I often find myself leaning a little Boho with my texture and color preferences.

BTW: have you seen my recent Bedroom Decor post yet?

I’m so excited to share a little bit more of my style and what makes working at home the most comfortable for me! At the end of the post, I have linked all my home office decor for you to browse and shop. I hope this brings you some inspiration, no matter what size of space you have to work with!

These framed canvases from Target were such a good find! If you like Magnolia brand, they have some very similar prints. However, this option was better for my budget!

I am loving the contrast of a black vase against my wall! The neutral bunnies tail adds a bohemian texture which ties in with my framed wall art.

My blue light blocking glasses have literally saved me so many headaches.

I usually go for a small planner, but this desk-sized calendar planner is perfect when I need some space!

We purchased my desk chair after testing about 30 different chairs. This was the comfiest one for our budget! Here is a similar-looking one at a little lower cost.
I use a 4×6 white rug in this corner. The fluffy texture contrasts with the wood flooring and desk and gives Regis a soft place to nap <3.
