Here’s how I make my Brussels sprouts:
- Preheat oven to 425º
- Finely chop three cloves of fresh garlic
- Cut sprouts in half lengthwise
- Line a baking sheet with tin foil and transfer the sprouts and garlic
- Drizzle on 3-seconds-worth of extra virgin olive oil
- Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and lemon pepper
- Toss it all together and spread out over the pan
- Roast for about 20 minutes (the edges should start to turn brown and crispy before you take them out)
As a girl who grew up in the Midwest, I know a thing or two about preparing a standard family dinner (thanks, mom)! There are so many delicious vegetables out there but it’s really easy to get stuck rotating around just a few. So, if you’re like me and get tired of the same thing, it might be time to try something different.
My sister loves making Brussels sprouts for her family and when I saw how easy they are to prepare, I realized I was afraid of them for no reason! Plus, they are rich in antioxidants and fiber, among other benefits, which helps me feel good about my health goals.
I feel like I’m always trying to find more ways to eat healthy food that actually tastes good and doesn’t take forever to make. We all value our time and so anything I can throw together quickly, without the microwave, I’m all for.
So easy and delicious! No more mushy, steamed sprouts from years passed. Crisping them up in the oven adds a whole new dimension and the lemon pepper adds a fresh zing, too!
Serving suggestion below: Pan-seared salmon and mashed potatoes round out a wholesome upgrade to the comfort food we all crave.
You can be brave enough to try Brussels sprouts! Let me know in the comments if you do (and recipe additions are always welcome) <3
Ooh I’m going to try this! I love Brussel sprouts 💗
