Every year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale makes waves across social media, boasting big savings on name brands and designer goods. There are many access points into the sale, depending on your status as a credit card member. I do not have a Nordstrom credit card, so I was able to create and save my wishlist and then shop when public access arrived.

As soon as my items arrived, I unboxed them and began trying on to see which things would be keepers or what I might send back. Happy to say that I will be keeping everything I chose! Today I’ll take you through each item I purchased from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to comment on quality, sizing, and comfort. If you are still interested in shopping the sale, go for it! Because prices will go back up on August 9th (ending this weekend). Happy shopping!

Boyfriend Plaid Button Up Shirt
$32 (after sale, $49)
Sizing: Wearing a small – Oversized Fit. Comes in four color options and lots of sizes available!
Comfort: Cozy, soft, cotton flannel
Quality: Thick yet soft, this top is perfect for heading into cooler months. A+
How to Style: I think this button-up can be worn in so many ways and is a staple item to have in your fall wardrobe. I chose this rich purple because I thought it would be beautiful against the bright hues of autumn. I have it styled with skinny jeans and heeled booties. Or you can tie it around your waist for a casual look while it’s still hot outside.

Western Mules
$40 (after sale, $60)
Sizing: Wearing 7.5 – True to Size. Available in black and chestnut (would be so pretty for fall!).
Comfort: Easy to wear slides. They do have about a 3-inch heel, but the arch support is also there.
Quality: The soles are sturdy and well-made. The upper is a smooth suede.
How to Style: These are a wonderful alternative to pointed-toe pumps when you want to dress up your outfit during the fall. I have them paired with loose, straight-leg distressed jeans, a tank, and a long cardigan. They also look great with black leggings and a dressier top. The leggings seen here are faux leather leggings.

Faux Leather Leggings
$35 (after sale, $59)
Sizing: Wearing a small – True to Size. If you are curvier or have long legs, I suggest sizing up one. I am 5’4” and the length is good, but they would be more of a 7/8 length on someone taller.
Comfort: Soft, synthetic “leather” with enough stretch to still feel like leggings.
Quality: Sturdy stitching and thicker material. The waistband is very wide and has elastic panels to hold everything in.
How to Style: I was so excited to try these because I’ve never had any faux leather leggings! I have not tried the Spanx version for comparison, but this option from BP is a Yes from me. I think these are a staple item for fall and winter because they can be worn very casually or dressed up. I have them paired above with the black mules for a dressy look. Below you’ll see how cute they are with a t-shirt and tennis shoes!

Denim Trucker Jacket
$39 (after sale, $59)
Sizing: Wearing an Extra-small. I sized down one and am glad I did. This one is very oversized.
Comfort: Reliable denim with no stretch. The inside is cozy, soft because of the fleece lining inside the jacket.
Quality: This jacket is thick and durable! It’s made to keep you warm on those chilly bonfire nights.
How to Style: Can be worn a hundred ways. Here I just matched it with the faux leather leggings from earlier, a big t-shirt, and white tennis shoes. I’m excited to dress this jacket up and try it with other styles.

Adidas Logo T-shirt
$18.5 (after sale, $25)
Sizing: Men’s Small. This is actually part of the men’s sale because I got it for Caleb.
Comfort: Clearly I like this one. I like the structure of the sleeves and the overall fit and length.
Quality: The cotton is tight-knit and not thin at all. I love the little embroidered Adidas logo at the top.
How to Style: Neon is definitely trying to have a moment this fall, and I’m on board! I would say this is a more subtle version of a typical highlighter yellow as it’s bright but slightly muted. As I mentioned, this is from the men’s department. It is meant for workouts or throw it on with jeans.

Waterproof Combat Boots
$89 (after sale, $130)
Sizing: Wearing 7.5, True to Size. Also available in a smokey tan color
Comfort: Perfect fit, and I think they’d even be okay with thicker socks in the winter.
Quality: Sturdy, leather material. These boots are truly comfy, especially with that low chunky heel. They’re Timberland, so they are guaranteed waterproof.
How to Style: I am so excited about these boots because I don’t have anything like them in my closet! For several years, I held onto cheaply-made boots that were leaking when it rained. I’m glad I have traded them out for something durable and meant for unpredictable weather. These are definitely a casual style, but I’m anxious to try them out with my fall dresses too!

To sum it up

I’m very pleased with all my purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year. In the past, I have not put too much emphasis on shopping the sale, because I know that it can be a crazy scene. I actually didn’t mind waiting until public access to shop and I feel like by then, a lot of the hype had died down. Thankfully, the items I grabbed are still in stock for the final weekend! Feel free to drop me a comment below if you have any questions!

xo, Laura
